Online Expert Web-based Training

IAM/Boeing Joint Programs has taken a good thing and made it better. While Web-based classes have always been very popular at the IAM/Boeing Joint Programs computer labs, customers now have the option to learn the material from the comfort of their own home.

The option of home-based learning allows more freedom in choosing when to take the course. You can log on 24 hours a day to access the material. Day care conflicts, scheduling problems, and commuting time are all eliminated.

Once IAM/Boeing Joint Programs has registered you for Online Expert training, you will receive an email containing a LINK TO THE TRAINING WEBSITE, an AUTHORIZATION CODE and ACCESS TO ALL AVAILABLE COURSES. Your email address used in your initial registration will be the one to which your access code is sent.

Online Expert courses are strictly for self-improvement. Successful completion of training will not appear on your Boeing training transcript. If you are taking this for the ERT process, you can schedule a challenge test with a Career Advisor or an instructor at the self-paced ERT labs following completion of your training. If you are a beginning computer user, consider taking the Basic Computing class which will help with any additional training.

Microsoft (MS) Office is a set of desktop applications that complete different activities and together are referred to as an office suite. Basic Computing helps you understand fundamental concepts that make using your computer a comfortable and rewarding experience. Included in this training is instruction from best selling author and renowned PC technician Mike Meyers who will share practical tips for using your system.
Windows XP is the master control program that manages a computer's internal functions and the way it operates. A basic understanding of Windows operations is essential for knowing how to manage files and folders and to successfully navigate on your personal computer.
MS Word provides powerful tools for creating and sharing word processing documents and is used for a variety of tasks from generating simple memos, to multi-page reports.
MS Excel allows the ability to create detailed spreadsheets using customized formulas for data which can also be analyzed with charts.
MS PowerPoint provides tools for creating presentations. It is used to create slideshows composed of text, graphics, movies and other objects, which can be displayed on-screen and navigated through by the presenter, or printed out on transparencies or slides.
MS Access allows the user to manage data when the need for a relational database arises, or after reaching the limits of Microsoft Excel. Simple tasks can be automated through macros with point and click options.
MS Outlook is a personal information manager and e-mail communication tool. Primary features include an e-mail client, calendar, task manager and address book. Outlook features can be configured in a wide variety of ways to suit the needs of the user.
