Administration and LTD (Learning, Training & Development) to create a new Hourly Employee Requested Transfer (ERT) process for Category C jobs. The QTTP Career Guides are the foundation of this process. It applies only to 'Cat C' jobs (the lowest graded job in each job family) that are part of the collective bargaining agreement in IAM Districts 751 in Puget Sound, District 70 in Wichita, and District 24 in Portland.
Employees wanting to file ERTs for jobs in the Cat C process need to meet minimum training requirements defined by the Hourly Skill Teams. After employees have met the requirements, they must meet with an IAM/Boeing Joint Programs Career Advisor to file the Cat C ERT. Career Advisors will ensure they have a clear understanding of the process and access to needed resources and will work with employees to document that the requirements have been met or help build a training plan to gain the necessary skills.
Managers are required to look at the ERT list for considering candidates and, therefore, employees desiring a job change will have a much better chance of getting a job they really want. Managers will know that everyone on the list is either in the job (desiring a location change, in Puget Sound only), has previously held the job, or has met the minimum training requirements.
Career Advisors are available at QTTP offices and various in-plant locations to help you develop a career plan. They can assist you in looking for a job you are interested in, locate the appropriate training and help you to register for courses.
Challenge tests are available for employees who feel their prior knowledge and experience is equal to the training required under the Cat C ERT process. Challenge tests are administered by Learning, Training, and Development at various ERT Lab locations throughout Puget Sound.
