The HCT Focals are representatives from each HSI Site Committee. They meet with the Core team on a monthly basis to bring knowledge of workplace concerns to the table and learn about changes that could affect employees in their area.
The focals offer an important link, facilitating two-way communication by providing up-to-date information about trends, processes, and materials to employees back in the shop. They provide a direct line for reporting potential hazards on the shop floor before incidents or accidents occur.
HCT Focals support the chemical introduction process on the factory floor and provide feedback to the responsible parties on its effectiveness, as described in Hazard Communication Focal Team Roles and Responsibilities.
